Renascence Trampoline Club over the last year
has become one of the top contenders in the South West, and is
showing great strength nationally as last weekend the club took
as many individual wins as any other club in the country.
Having been registered as a club for only 18
months now, Renascence have 7 national Grade 1 performers and
with only 2 competitions of the Grade 1 season completed, now
has all 7 of these performers qualified to the National
Championships in July.
The first Grade 1 in Eastleigh saw Ella Mae
Bolton take the Under 11 girls by storm winning her first ever
grade 1 competition and qualifying for the Nationals. Rebecca
Sandt also made the final and qualified for the Nationals in the
same event.
Last weekend at Littledown Harvey Donnelly
won the Under 19 Boys event and qualified for the National
Championships.
Danielle Pietruszka who has previously won 5
national titles won the under 19 girls event.
Jasper Dallard won his first Grade 1 under 11
boys competition and qualified for the nationals.
Emily Mulcahy was 4th going in to
the finals and qualified for the National Finals.
Sapphire Dallard came 4th in the
Under 13 girls, a very competitive event, and qualified for the
Nationals.
Ella Mae Bolton again put in a fantastic
performance and finished 2nd place in the Under 11
girls, whilst team mate Rebecca Sandt narrowly missed 3rd
place in the same event.
The Grade 2 performers for Renascence are
also doing extremely well. In the first Grade 2 event of the
year, Celine Yeatman won her first podium place finishing 3rd
and qualifying to the Grade 2 National finals.
Danielle cairns finished in second place in
the Under 19 Girls, also qualifying to the Grade 2 Nationals.
Harriet Mulcahy and Rebecca Cresswell are
holding their own in extremely competitive fields and are
predicted to qualify to the Grade 2 Nationals in a few weeks in
Hull or in Cardiff in April.
Renascence Trampoline Club which is based at
Broadstone Leisure Centre and Osprey Leisure Centre in Portland,
also have 4 grade 3 performers, 15 grade 4 performers, 50 grade
5 performers and on top of all this about 150 trampolinists who
participate purely for fun and enjoyment.
On the 9th March 2008 Renascence
entered their second regional grading competition for Grade 3,4
& 5 performers. The event held at the Wellsprings Leisure Centre
– Taunton proved another successful day for the club.
With 37 entries from Renascence (one of the
largest from any single club) the day was busy.
In the Grade 5 under 9 girls event Renascence
had 7 entries. For this whole group it was either their 1st,
2nd or 3rd ever competition. The
trampolinists finished in 9th, 10th, 11th,
13th, 14th, 15th, and 19th.
In the team event the two Renascence teams finished 3rd
and 4th.
In the Grade 5 under 9 boys event, Renascence
had just 1 entry and came home with the gold medal.
The Under 11 girl’s event saw another large
entry from Renascence of 9 trampolinists. Again for many this
was one of their first ever competitions and the Renascence Club
members finished in 6th, 8th, 10th,
12th, 13th, 15th, 17th,
22nd and 29th out of a total field of 45.
In the team event Renascence had 3 teams finishing in 2nd,
3rd, and 4th.
Renascence had 1 entry into each of the Grade
5 Under 11 Boys, Under 13 Boys and Under 13 Girls with final
results of 4th, 6th and 16th
respectively.
In the Under 15 Girls event at Grade 5
Renascence had one team of 3 girls who took the team gold with
excellent performances earning them 2nd, 4th
and 5th individually.
Moving on to Grade 4, in the Under 11 girls
event a team of 4 narrowly missed a team medal finishing in 4th
place, whilst individually finishing in 6th, 11th,
20th and 26th.
In the Under 11 boys, Under 13 girls, Under
13 Boys and Under 15 girls grade 4 events, Renascence had 1
representative per group finishing in 4th, 2nd,
9th and 2nd respectively.
The Under 17 Girls grade 4 event again saw a
team entry from Renascence consisting of 3 girls finishing
individually in 1st, 5th and 13th
allowing them to take home the team gold.
In the Over 17 Girls Grade 4 event Renascence
had 1 entrant finishing in 5th place.
The 2 entries that Renascence had into the
Grade 3 events made the end of a long day a little tenser. With
both girls capable of qualifying up from Regional level to
National level at Grade 2, nerves were rife. To qualify up the
grade certain scores after the first 2 rounds had to be
attained. For Millie Cameron in the Under 11 Girls event a score
of 49.0 and for Ella Currell in the Under 13 girls event a score
of 49.5, were the targets. There was no room for error and with
them both cutting it fine after the first round tensions grew
even more, however, with 2 extremely solid performance both
Mille and Ella qualified to Grade 2 with Millie achieving 49.1
and Ella being a little more precise with her scores totalling
49.5 exactly. Millie finished in 5th place whilst
Ella finished in 2nd.
Sunday 9th March was also the day
of the National Schools Championship Finals. The event held at
the Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre in Birmingham accommodated
5 trampolinists from Renascence. In the Under 11 Girls event
Ella Mae Bolton finished in 6th place whilst Rebecca
Sandt finished in 9th. Rebecca along with her school
team mates also took the National Schools Under 11 Girls team
title for 2008. Lucy Froud in the Under 13
Girls and Danielle Pietruszka in the Under 19 Girls event, both
won giving them a 2007/2008 National Schools Championship Title
to bring home. Nicola Norman, along with her team took a Bronze
Medal in the team event.
An exceptional start to 2008 for Renascence
and they hope the success will continue on for many years.
