Regional Grading – Chippenham – 12th October 2008

On Sunday 12th October 2008, Renascence took 41 of our club members to the Olympiad Centre – Chippenham for the first grading of the new structure. With no under 9 categories, Renascence boasted 4 teams in the Under 11 Girls Grade G competition. This was the largest group of the entire event containing 56 competitors. The group was split into 2 for the competition and at the end of the first group Lilly Tozer was leading with Bethany Hoyland in 2nd. Having waited nervously for another 27 competitors to jump, Lilly maintained her position and won the event. Maisey Blake (who is 6 years old) put in two fantastic routines to take the silver medal, whilst Bethany finished in 5th. This also gave Renascence the team gold in this event.

In the Under 11 Boys Grade G, 4 young men represented Renascence. With some real good teamwork from the boys won the team Gold whilst Matthew Dominey put in a solid performance earning him the individual gold medal.

The Under 13 Girls Grade G, saw two new competitors for Renascence at regional level. Both Natasha Andrews and Megan Potter coped with the event brilliantly to finish 12th and 21st respectively.

Moving up the grades to Regional F, Ellie Kaye, Katherine Edmunds and Susan Horton took the team silver medal whilst finishing 6th, 7th and 10th.

In the Under 11 Boys Reg F competition, saw Angus Stone putting in 2 strong routines earning him a silver medal. The same colour medal went to Jordan Cox in the Under 13 Boys Reg F competition.

Another gold medal went to Katherine Hodge in the Under 15 Girls Regional F competition.

On to Regional E where Renascence had just 3 entries. In the Under 17 Girls event, Nicola Norman and Roxanne Carpenter finished their days work with a 3rd and 5th place.

In the Over 17 event Lucy Cobb put in her best performance to date earning her a silver medal.

Our last 4 entries for trampoline were in Regional D which saw the Under 15 Girls team of Celine Yeatman, Ella Currell and Jo Furmston win the gold medal whilst finishing 4th, 12th and 16th respectively. This result for Celine means she is now eligible to move up to National C. In the Over 15 event Sian Griffiths finished in 7th place.

It was an exciting day for Renascence as we made our debut in the world of Double Mini Tramp (DMT). Our team of looked stunning and did us proud as they competed against some seasoned DMT competitors from across the region. In the Under 15 Female event, our team of Ella Currell, Celine Yeatman, Jo Furmston and Ella Mae Bolton claimed the team silver. Individually, Ella Mae narrowly missed out on a medal finishing in 4th place whilst the other girls finished in 6th, 7th and 16th.

In the Over 15 females event, Sian Griffiths put in a fabulous performance earning her a silver medal at her first DMT competition - Well Done Sian

In the Under 15 Male event, Jasper Dallard, having proven he is the best in the country on a trampoline for his age, stepped up to this new challenge admirably. Keeping us on tender hooks all the way through the event, Jasper left it to the last round to confirm his place as the winner. This win will hopefully earn him the chance to represent England at the Home Nations Championships. We wish Jasper good luck with that.

Special thanks to Hannah Bradley for organising the after competition celebration meal as McDonalds. We hope that next time she tells Rob, Eri and Aarron to go same restaurant as everyone else!!

On a more serious note, the prize of the day goes to Harvey Donnelly for getting to Chippenham and back on his motorized lawnmower.

As always, special thanks to everyone who gave up their day, voluntarily, to help support the club in either official roles, coaches roles or just looking after James and Jack.

Well Done To All.
